Parasite Control for Horses

Parasite Control for Horses

We follow the most current AAEP guidelines to ensure effective, responsible parasite management. Rather than routine deworming, we use a targeted approach based on individual risk and fecal egg count (FEC) results.

For adult horses with a history of low to moderate shedding, we typically recommend fecal testing twice yearly—once in mid-spring and again in the fall, just after the first hard frost. This schedule allows us to monitor parasite burdens during key times of year and tailor treatment only when needed.

Young horses under the age of two require more frequent monitoring and a different management strategy, as they’re more susceptible to parasites. Our team will guide you through age-appropriate testing and treatment to support healthy growth and development.

By staying ahead of resistance and reducing unnecessary deworming, we help protect both your horse and the broader equine community for the long haul.
